President

Mr. Ken Xiao (Senior Performance Analyst, IPD)

After graduating with BSc in Land Planning & Real Estate Development in China and MSc in Business from Oxford Brookes University, Ken joined Investment Property Databank in 2006 as a performance analyst. Since then, he has been working with a variety of investors and investment funds (eg. life & pension funds, unit trusts, traditional institutes etc.), targeting commercial, residential and rural properties. He is now the team leader of UK services delivery in London, looking after a list of large institutional clients including British Land, Legal & General, F&C REIT, RREEF, DTZ etc. As well as carrying up relevant market research, he provides the fund manager with short- & long-term performance measurement and in-depth portfolio analysis, which helps with their fund management process, Alongside, Ken also heads up the feasibility study on introducing indices and benchmarking service to China, to help to improve the transparency of the local investment market.
Early 2008, Ken set up an informal professional network, Chinese Property Professionals, which was later formally registered and established as Chinese Property Professionals. Via this network, he met and advised a few Chinese developers who were interested in investing in London.
Ken completed CFA programme in 2009. He is currently the president of Chinese Property Professionals Society. He is also a member of Society of Property Researchers.

Ms. Sophia Wang (Banker, Capital Partners Group)

Sophia is one of the founding members of UK Chinese Property Professionals Society (CPPS). She is an Investment Banker at Capital Partners Group (CPG), responsible for deal origination, analysis, negotiation and execution potential investment opportunities. Sophia currently acts as a Corporate Adviser for CDM, a PLUS-listed company on behalf of CPG in the UK. Prior to joining CPG, Sophia had a senior credit analyst role in Lloyds TSB Bank. Before that, Sophia worked at Capital Bridge Corporation in China. She was the key member of investment banking division conducting IPO, corporate restructure, buyout transactions, consultancy and other relevant private equity investment activities targeted on late stage companies with high growth potential attractive to international investors. Sophia holds an MSc in Mathematical Finance from York University, UK and a BA in Management Accounting from Tianjin University. She is a member of CPA and Investment Bankers Association.

Ms. Yasmin Y. Jiang MRICS (Associate, Mansford Real Estate LLP)


Yasmin Jiang

 

 

 

 

Yasmin became a Chartered Surveyor in 2006 in the faculty of valuation. She is now working for Mansford Real Estate LLP, a European multi-strategy real estate investment firm. As an Associate specialising in property acquisition, her primary responsibilities are cashflow modeling and acquisition due diligence. Furthermore, she is overseeing the asset management of the company’s UK portfolio and German Assets. Prior to this, Yasmin had several years experience in real estate research and was a lecturer in Project & Development Appraisal and a co-lecturer in Valuation Principles. In addition to her professional experience, she hold a First Class Degree in Property Management & Valuation and MPhil in Real Estate Investment. She was awarded the Estates Gazette Prize twice for Outstanding Performance in Property Management. Yasmin is a member of Royal Institute of Charted Surveyor and Vice President of Chinese Property Professionals Society.

Chunxi Yu is a passionate, enthusiastic and energetic strategist, visionary consultant and business revolutionary pioneer who is dedicated to help small and medium enterprises or organizations to release their corporate potential, pursuit impossible, and transform their business practice into systematic, sustainable and profitable business model. He worked as senior Financial Analyst for a world leading travel-catering company, Project Manager in a top marketing research firm in the UK, Management Accountant in a London based accounting firm and Marketing manager of a Chinese real estate development company before pursuing his MBA and career in London. He is currently working as an independent Strategy Consultant. He believes that every organization must have a meaningful purpose and carries a profound mission. He works closely with other CPPS committee members to develop the society’s long-term strategy, vision and mission; provides advices on key strategic plan and activities of the society; constantly contributes to refine the organization strategic objectives, structure and visionalise the future of the CPPS. After qualified as MBA, professional Chartered Accountant, Chartered Marketer, he also obtained Msc in accounting and finance and recently completed Chartered Financial Analyst in 2009. It is his passion to add value to CPPS strategic growth and help other more organizations to achieve their success.

Mr. Andrew Miao (Senior Civil Engineer)

Andrew graduated from Birmingham University with a Merit Master degree in Construction Management. After graduatation in 2003 he joined Atkins Consultant as a Civil Engineer, and was responsible for the design and assessment of various highway structures and bridges in Cambridgeshire. In 2007 Andrew decided to work for private property developer Ballymore Properties where he was responsible for the design/construction management of infrastructure packages of a large scale residential led development near Canary Wharf, London. In 2008, Andrew decided to follow his passion of construction and joined a main contractor Taylor Woodrow Construction, where he was responsible for the construction of the steelworks of a new Dockland Lightrail Railway (DLR) station, the new South Quay Station in London. Andrew is graduate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and was the Chairman of the ICE G&S Committee of East England as a volunteer. Andrew is also one of the founding members of the UK Chinese Property Professionals Society and the General Secretary of CPPS.

Ms. Lynn Yunqing Xu (PhD in Real Estate, Oxford Brookes University)

Lynn holds a master degree in International Real Estate from Oxford Brookes University, where she furthered her education by doing a PhD research on the property-led urban development model and urban sustainability of Chinese cities. This research aims to develop a systematic evaluative framework for exploring the impacts of such urban growth model on China’s sustainable development and identify practical ways of reform or new mode of urban growth that is more sustainable. As a crucial part of the research, she completed an international survey of nearly 60 experts in the relevant fields over the world and carried out almost 80 interviews in 7 Chinese cities. She has also presented papers at international conferences such as the annual meetings of the American Real Estate Society (ARES), the Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES) and the Global Chinese Real Estate Congress (GCREC). Lei is a researcher at Innovative Construction Research Centre, University of Reading for an EPSRC funded project PROFIK (Procurement for Innovation Diffusion and Knowledge Transfer). He holds a PhD degree of Sustainable Development and Private Finance Initiative from Oxford Brookes University and a M.Phil degree from University of Manchester. His main working area is to study how the UK governments use government policies and public procurement tools to drive innovative product and service in the built environment. Lei’s other interests include Project Management, Strategy Management, Whole Life Costing and UK Property Investment.
